Johan Hallgren Madsen is sustainability manager at NREP and one of the Danish property industry's leading climate warriors. He has a degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen and has been with NREP since 2017.

NREP is a Nordic real estate developer and investor that operates across all real estate segments. The company has made sustainable solutions one of the company's most important competitive parameters with, among other things, an internal "CO2 tax" on its own investments. That this approach does not make NREP into climatologists, but on the contrary represents an enormous business opportunity, was clear to everyone when NREP through Urban Partners in May raised DKK 27 billion in a new fund that invests in the renovation of existing properties and urban renewal with a focus on on creating more green and viable cities.
