Brøndby Strand of the future – transformation of an entire district

Brøndby Strand is changing, and at the head of this major strategic urban development process is Future Brøndby Strand's program manager and head of the secretariat, Lise Juul.

In the coming years, the entire district of Brøndby Strand will have to be rethought, so that it fits better with more variety in the cityscape. Brøndby Municipality's plan contains 2,200 new homes, new retail, new squares, streets and upgraded green spaces and parks. A key word is the mixed city, which is why the collaboration takes place closely with the public housing organizations in the district, which must renovate 2,500 public housing over the next 10 years.

The realization of Fremtidens Brøndby Strand will require large municipal investments, which must be matched by ambitious private investments in the district. Among other things, a land development company must be established, where Brøndby Municipality joins forces with private players and investors to take on the big task and create synergy and momentum.
