Maja Højgaard is an ambitious, versatile and passionate personality who has achieved success in several different areas.

Maja Højgaard is a trained doctor and works in surgery alongside her political work. Her interest in social affairs and politics led her to stand for the regional council in the Capital Region, where she made a great effort to improve the health service. Among other things, she sat on several judging committees and political follow-up groups for the large new hospital buildings, where sustainability and healing architecture were paramount. She was chairman of the judging committee that decided the architectural competition for the recently inaugurated Bodil Eskesen Center for Neurorehabilitation at Rigshospitalet Glostrup.

Today, Maja Højgaard has been elected as deputy mayor of Brøndby. She is a member of the Social Democrats, which has an absolute majority in Brøndby municipal council. Climate is one of her special issues, and she is focused on creating a more sustainable and inclusive municipality.

With the ambitious urban development project Fremtidens Brøndby Strand, she has come very close to the many challenges and opportunities that innovative urban renewal opens up. For Maja, the physical layout of the urban space is absolutely crucial in the fight against inequality and for a healthier city for everyone.

The aim of Fremtidens Brøndby Strand is to create a coherent district with strong local communities, a new town centre, recreational green and blue areas, a new school and a wide range of housing. The development is taking place right now and for the next twenty years.

This morning, Maja Højgaard will welcome Brøndby and the Property Fair 2023.
