Green transition must be at eye level

The sustainable transition in construction is difficult for everyone, but for the smaller players in the real estate industry it can seem unmanageable.

Mette Quist, who is deputy director responsible for ESG and sustainability for the trade association EjendomDanmark, will talk at the Ejendomsmessen about how important it is that we get framework conditions that make green transition easier and long-term, and that we also get to develop solutions at eye level for the smaller property owners. Legislation and support schemes must be transparent and understandable, and there must be economic benefits from green investments.

In her previous job at the Council for Sustainable Construction (formerly Green Building Council Denmark), her role was largely to build awareness of sustainability in the Danish construction and property industry and create a common language for it. "DGNB certification" is one of the words that Mette Quist has brought into the property industry - and which everyone today knows what it means.

Mette Quist has opened the industry's eyes to the fact that sustainability is something we must measure and document. Now she wants to ensure that the path to the necessary transformation becomes easier and more manageable. At the same time, she works to promote a more holistic view of sustainability in the industry than just focusing on CO2.
